Description
General Product Information – Pinned Insect Manipulator
The Ecology Supplies Pinned Insect Manipulator is finally here to offer an innovative solution to the viewing and photography of mounted insect specimens. Inspired by the Rose Entomology Pinned Specimen Manipulator (11RPSM), but with Ecology Supplies’ signature innovation.
Key Features:
- Adjustable – Rotation of specimen on two independent axes
- Stability – Internal magnets allow for secure attachment to most metal microscope stages and adds stability to the base of the Manipulator
- Centralized Viewing – The centralized design of the Pinned Insect Manipulator allows for viewing of mounted specimens under a microscope from multiple positions while remaining in relatively good focus
- Replaceable Foam – High density Plastazote foam is used for securing the pinned specimen and can be replaced when the foam has been heavily used.
- Customizable Base – The open design of the Pinned Insect Manipulator allows for the customization of color to the base, especially helpful for photography that may require a custom background color, or for creating more contrast behind specimens.
How to Use:
- Simple place the pin of a pinned or point mounted specimen into the plastazote surface of the arm. Adjustments can be made with fine tipped forceps (Swiss, Long Fine Curved, or Feather).
- Rotate the specimen from the bottom knob to desired position
- Rotate the specimen arm from the side knob to the desired position
