Product Updates 01/21/2024

The New Year has arrived and so have new product announcements! We have some big updates on production and shipping dates! We are doing our best to be as transparent as possible through these posts on product timelines. If there is anything that you are in need of, please reach out and we can add it to our list of production plans!

New Arrivals

• Standard Grade Drawers – In-Stock and ready to ship! Styles returning includes Cornell and Cal Academy.
  • We improved our old design with stronger corners and increased padding for higher protection during shipping.
  • Just a reminder that Standard Grade Drawers are an economical option for short-term and temporary storage. Our Museum Grade Drawers are specified for long-term collections.

• Collapsible Pocket Nets – In-Stock and ready to ship. Comes with our Standard Insect Net Bag
• Plastic Genitalia Vials – Smaller 4mm version In-Stock and ready to ship. Updated White Silicone Toppers will provide an improved airtight seal (will ship out later this week)
• Beating sheets – In-Stock and ready to ship.
• Point Punches – Limited stock available, back orders will be taken and shipped first come first serve.
• Gravid Traps – Samples out for testing! Once we get confirmation that everything is good to go, we will start taking orders. Please contact us with any purchase inquiries to hold your place in line!
• Folding Insect Storage Box – Pre-order open. Restock estimated next week (Jan. 29-Feb. 1)
• Cornell Size A and C Unit Trays – Pre-order open. Restock estimated next week (Jan. 29-Feb. 1)
• Vial Organizer Trays (for Size A Cornell Unit Trays) – Pre-order open. Restock estimated next week (Jan. 29-Feb. 1)
• No Foam Unit Trays – Cornell size A and B – Pre-order open. Restock estimated next week (Jan. 29-Feb. 1)
• Collecting Jars – Bottom filled Plaster jars are available now for purchase! These are made on demand, so expect about a 1-2 week turnaround prior to being shipped.

We now have a Last Chance section for products that are no longer returning that we are selling at a large discount!

Products currently in Production (Estimated Availability Winter 2024)

• Student Kits – We are aiming to have these available for pre-order in Mid-February.
  • If you would like to provide feedback, please reach out!
  • Check out their page to see specifics. (Telescopic net, folding box, spreading board, pins, pinning block, and more will be included)
• Museum Grade Drawers (Cornell/Cal/USNM) – This grade will be archival quality with an airtight seal.
  • Reach out to us if you want the first ones available.
  • Cornell is in production now, with first available batch estimated to ship in February/March
• Kill Jars – Top Loaded jars have been sampled. If you need top loaded jars and would like to test, reach out.
• Tick Drag/Flag – Made to CDC specifications. If you would like to test one, please reach out!
• Additional Insect Net and Net Bag options – What are you looking for? (different handle lengths, larger net rings & bags, varying net materials and colors, aquatic options etc.) Let us know!

Products in Our 2024 Plans

Thanks to community feedback, here are some of the products in our 2024 plans: 

• Various trapping systems: Light Traps, Malaise Traps
• Prokopak Aspirators – We are building a sample now and will have it tested accordingly. These will retail at around $450
• Slide Boxes
• Expanding Pin options: Minuten Pins, size 4, 5, 6, and 7 insect pins.
